Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah today led the signing in New Delhi of a landmark agreement between the Government of India, the Government of Assam and representatives of Bodo to end the more than 50-year-old Bodo crisis. In addition, a permanent solution has been found to the problem that has claimed the lives of more than 4,000 people in the region. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal were present when the Centre signed the tripartite agreement with representatives of the banned organisations` factions. The Prime Minister said: “After signing this historic agreement with Bodo organisations, the development of Bodo areas is a top priority for our government. Work on a complete set of 1,500 crores of rupees has begun.
